The Statements of Prospect Church

Mission Statement

To be a family in Christ, reaching out to all with love, prayer and service… through worship, education, mission and fellowship, we experience God’s love, forgiveness, grace and call

Statement of Inclusion

“Christ is just like the human body—a body is a unit and has many parts; and all the parts of the body are one body, even though there are many.” “God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the part with less honor so that there won’t be division in the body and so the parts might have mutual concern for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part gets the glory, all the parts celebrate with it. You are the body of Christ and parts of each other.” - 1 Corinthians 12:12, 24b-27

Per the Presbyterian Church (USA) book of order passage F-1.0403, the church “shall guarantee full participation and representation in its worship, governance, and emerging life to all persons or groups within its membership.”

As such, the Session of Prospect Presbyterian (February 6, 2025) declares publicly our commitment to welcoming, including in life, worship, and leadership and celebrating people of all kinds in our community, including:

  •  All racial and ethnic identities

  • All kinds of ability or disability

  • All ages

  • All gender identities and gender expressions

  • All sexual orientations

And regardless of:

  • Marital or family status

  • Nationality or immigration status

  • Mental or physical health

  • Language or cultural background

  •  Socioeconomic or housing status

God calls all people into community and calls every individual to their own role in community. We affirm all those who enter our community as children of God and partners called to do Christ’s work with us.

As such, we also welcome anyone of any faith or no faith to participate as attendees and friends in the life and activities of Prospect Church.

All are welcome at Prospect Church.
