Prospect Church is one of the founding congregations of the Family Promise Network (formerly Interfaith Hospitality Network, or I.H.N) of Essex County.

The Family Promise Network is a co-op of faith communities throughout Essex County that began by providing meals and places to sleep within their church buildings to families without homes.

Guest families were on church premises from 6:00 pm to 7:00 am during weekdays and all day on weekends. Volunteers provided and serve meals, help with children, serve as evening and overnight hosts, and launder linens when the guests leave.

 

Prospect hosted families four weeks each year.

Since 2020, Family Promise has changed its focus and program, and no longer uses church spaces to house folks. Prospect continues to support the good work they do in ensuring that children and families do not have to go without shelter and security. Learn more about their current programs on their website.
