Interfaith Holocaust Youth Event
On Sunday, March 26 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Gym.
The evening’s format is a Holocaust speaker and then a presentation about current issues of hate, a discussion among the attendees ending with a “Call to Action”.
Fred Polak will present:
Lessons From History: Thoughts and Remembrances of a Child of Holocaust Survivors
His parents were Holocaust survivors who met and fell in love in a concentration camp. They were the subject of an award-winning documentary “Steal a Pencil for Me”.
In the second part of the program someone from the American Jewish Committee will focus on today’s continuation of hate in our society and how social media is used as a weapon. Groups will discuss the topics presented and end the evening by signing a banner stating how they will commit to being an “upstander”.
Snacks and beverages will be provided by OLS.
